Going to Court is the final step of the bankruptcy process. Prior to speaking to the Court and organising a time and date to apply for a Bankruptcy Order you first need to assess what you can do.
Bankruptcy will clear your personal unsecured debts, but in doing so it's going to stay on your Credit Report for six years, which will hinder your future borrowing during that timeframe. Another method of insolvency is an IVA, which might be suitable for those who have equity to protect, or a job which is excluded from bankruptcy.
If bankruptcy certainly is the solution you're looking for, then the appropriate paperwork will eventually be submitted to your local County Court.
